African Initiatives seeks new Trustees!

African Initiatives is a vibrant and growing social justice organisation working with communities in Africa to build their knowledge and ability to address their needs and access their rights. African Initiatives supports partner organisations to empower marginalised people to fully participate in decisions that affect their lives. Currently, we work with African partners in Ghana and Tanzania including in girls’ education, women’s rights, sexual reproductive health and sustainable livelihoods in both settled and pastoralist communities.

African Initiatives is governed by a Board of up to 9 Trustees that meets once per quarter. The organisation is keen to hear from people 18 years+ with extensive knowledge and experience of West and/or East Africa, and in particular Ghana and/or Tanzania. This should include knowledge and experience of the political, economic, and socio-cultural aspects of these countries/regions. African Initiatives is also seeking a Trustee with fundraising expertise who can help develop our fundraising strategy. This is your chance to shape the future of a growing and changing international organisation!

For more information go to our website www.african-initiatives.org.uk For an informal discussion about these roles please call Rosie Martin on 0117 9166451 or email info@african-initiatives.org.uk
