UCRT

The Ujaama Community Resource Team was established in 1998, and is an environmental and social justice NGO working with indigenous groups in northern Tanzania. The target communities are those who depend on communal natural resources to maintain a sustainable livelihood. UCRT aims to strengthen indigenous communities to better manage and retain control of, and benefit from their resources.

UCRT’s key focus currently is to support communities in their ongoing fight against the Government, and international hunting and tourism companies to maintain control and access to their land, which is vital to their ability to maintain a sustainable livelihood.

UCRT and AI currently have no active projects together, however it is testament to AI’s partnership working, that a close working relationship and partnership is maintained even though there are currently no active projects together.
