The Global Education Directory
The Global Education Directory caters for all your Global needs. It provides detailed, clear, accessible information about the global resources and organizations in the South West. This directory aims to build links within the South West of England between the many global service providers and 10,000 educational organisations, including schools, colleges, libraries, local authorities, universities and nurseries. Through it practitioners can access a wealth of global education resources: everything from online resources to music, dance and storytelling to workshops on child soldiers, professional development and training or linking opportunities with communities abroad.
Purpose of directory
In the 21st Century where our global interdependence is clear to see where ever we turn there is an increasing need to bring the global dimension into learning and to take learning out into the world.
Educators and practitioners, whether working in a formal or informal context need a resource which they can use to meet the challenges of educating in an international age.
The Global Education Directory is a local doorway to the wider world. We hope you’ll enjoy experiencing what’s out there.
How to use the directory
If you know what you are looking for then your starting point will be the matrix index. The matrix index provides an easy to use chart showing you providers by theme, age and area of the South West covered.
The far reaching scope of global education can be bewildering. This is why we have included an introduction to global education and examples of the amazing work which is taking place throughout the region which we hope will inspire you. Also worth a look if you work within statutory education is a list of reports and documents you can turn to for more information.
