What is Global Club?

Global Club is a fun and engaging after-school club for Bristol primary schools. Trained volunteers bring important global issues to Key Stage 2 pupils in various primary schools over six weekly sessions.

What are the sessions about?

Each week will be centred on a different global topic such as environment, folk storytelling and Fairtrade and are designed to be creative and active.

We need volunteers and schools to make it happen!

Volunteers work in pairs and are given all the materials and support needed to run the Global Club. All volunteers are provided with a DBS certificate and undergo a three-hour training workshops. It is a great way of getting experience of working with children, charity work and International Development. Can you volunteer? Get in touch.

Schools don’t pay a penny for Global Club and can take up the offer of a free assembly to help promote the club. The sessions can be linked to the curriculum to improve academic attainment in various subjects, specifically SMSC and PSHE. Do you want Global Club in your school?

“Because many of our children come from diverse backgrounds, it’s very relevant for them to learn about other countries and the issues in these. They get a lot out of it!”

“[My child] came home with a seed they had planted in a newspaper pot. They loved watching it grow.”
