Volunteer with us

Fundraising Trustee

We are recruiting a new trustee! We are looking for someone based in the South West who has previous experience within a senior Fundraising Manager role. Knowledge of digital fundraising and potentials for small NGOs and networking skills would be beneficial.

My name is Maggie. I started volunteering with African Initiatives to gain more experience and understanding of the international development and charity sectors. I plan to undertake a Master’s in Gender Studies and International Relations so volunteering with an organisation such as AI, which focuses greatly on women’s and girls’ issues, is an excellent way to develop skills. Volunteering has taught me about the structures of a charity, and the many ways in which people and communities benefit through partnership.

I’m Sandi and I’ve been doing academic social science research for eight years. This year, I decided to start putting my research skills to use in the charity sector. Given my long-standing interest in, and desire to delve more deeply into, global politics and women’s rights, African Initiatives was the perfect place to start my new adventure. As programme support volunteer, I’m working on several projects that aim to improve the lives of women and children in Tanzania. What I love about AI is that partnership working is at the heart of all of these projects.

If a suitable volunteer role is not advertised please check again for updates. However, we would still like to hear from you if you have a skill to offer or experience you would like to gain. Please feel free to send your CV to info@african-initiatives.org.uk and we will get in touch about ways you can get involved with African Initiatives.
