Volunteers Needed!

Be the Change You Want to See in the World

African Initiatives is urgently seeking volunteers to fill a number of volunteering opportunities across the organisation which range from educational research and admin to fundraising to film making and animation.

Carrie Brassley, Volunteer Manager says “There really is something for everyone here at AI, it’s a great opportunity to work as part of a team in a small NGO where we all have to muck in together to get the job done.”

Based in the office in Bristol, we are asking people from all backgrounds and of all ages to give up just a little bit of their time each week to help our work in challenging injustice in Africa. Volunteering is available on both a structured 2 day a week internship and on an ad-hoc basis which can fit around your own commitments.

St Werburghs 019Volunteers expand our capacity enormously across the board because there are only 6 staff, most of us part time. Without the help of people such as yourselves we simply couldn’t operate. In the last 6 months volunteers have planned conferences, written and designed publications, undertaken valuable research work, worked on our database, undertaken social media activities and been an important part of our annual strategic planning process with partners from Africa.

Kate is one of our current volunteers. Read what she has had to say about the experience here
