Job Vacancy: Education Project Manager
Location: Arusha, Tanzania
Founded in 1997, African Initiatives (AI) is an international NGO based in Bristol. AI works through partners in Africa to challenge social injustice. We aim to increase knowledge and skills, so communities are better able to address their needs and exercise their rights. AI currently works in 3 regions of northern Tanzania (Arusha, Kilimanjaro and Manyara). Existing programme areas focus on; girls’ education, livelihoods, land rights and women’s rights including sexual and reproductive health. The organisation has grown significantly in recent years and aspires to grow further in the coming years.
This position would suit someone who enjoys working self-sufficiently; largely on their own (the AI Tanzania office has one other staff member); has exceptional relationship building and project management skills in the Education sector, with bags of energy, enthusiasm and committed to improving the rights of women and other marginalised groups. We are offering an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of a focussed piece of work to attract and retain hard-to-reach children and girls at risk of dropping out of school.
If you are interested in the post and believe you meet our requirements, we look forward to hearing from you.
Only people eligible to work in Tanzania can apply for this position.
We value diversity and seek to reflect this in our staff team. We welcome applications from people from all sections of the community, irrespective of race, colour, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief.
