External End-of-Project Evaluation

Project Title: Hope of a Girl Child – Northern Tanzania

Project Summary: This is a $246,977 project (April 2018 – December 2020), funded by a US Foundation. The project is designed to ensure that over-aged out-of-school girls – and/or girls at risk of dropping out of school – re-enter/enter formal education, learn, and transition to their next level of education. The project operates in three wards across the two districts of Monduli and Longido in Northern Tanzania.

Project Outcomes: To support disadvantaged girls from pastoralist communities to access quality primary and secondary education and to gain knowledge, skills and competences that can enable them to improve their quality of life.

Purpose of the Evaluation: The end-line evaluation is intended to assess the project’s progress in achieving its core outcomes of access, retention, learning and transition, and to clearly articulate how and why change happens and for whom.

Expected consultancy contract duration: December 2020 – January 2021.
