Founded in 1997, African Initiatives (AI) is an international NGO, based in Bristol. AI works through partners in Tanzania to challenge social injustice. Our vision is to see women and girls in marginalised African communities with equal status to others, and being empowered to achieve their potential. We aim to increase knowledge and skills, so communities are better able to address their needs and exercise their rights. We currently works with eight partners in Tanzania. Existing programme areas focus on: girls’ education, livelihoods, land rights and women’s rights including sexual and reproductive health.
The organisation has grown significantly in recent years and has aspirations to grow further. This fundraising position would suit someone who has a wide variety of skills with bags of energy, enthusiasm and a desire to help shape the direction of the organisation and who is committed to improving the rights of women and other marginalised groups.
The Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer position is an exciting opportunity to work in a small but dynamic and highly motivated fundraising team, and in a friendly and flexible work environment. If you are interested in the post and believe you meet our requirements, we look forward to hearing from you.
